Customer Review: 2 & ˝ years since purchase and am very happy!

I purchased the 77-17 Chef's Classic Stainless 17-Piece Cookware Set February 2008 and have been extremely pleased with my choice. I wanted good quality but couldn't justify the cost of All-Clad. Here are a few thoughts from a happy cook:
1) I've washed the cookware in the dishwasher without any ill effects.
2) When washing by hand I use a soft dishcloth on the exterior and a Dobie scrub pad on the interior.
3) Food which appears to be firmly stuck on will easily come loose with a short soak. Once the pan cools fill it with hot soapy water, let sit roughly 30 minutes then rinse and use a gentle scrub pad to remove any remaining residue.
4) I cook 3 to 5 times per week, my pans still look new and their performance remains excellent.
5) The interior will develop some discoloration and splotches over time - this is to be expected with stainless steel. It doesn't affect performance; however, if it bugs you pick up a package of stainless steel cleansing powder at the grocery store and follow the package directions. Only use the powder on the INTERIOR of the pans.
6) DO NOT USE STAINLESS CLEANSING POWDER ON THE SHINY EXTERIOR OF THE PANS. Folks who have made this mistake have complained about scratching the exterior of the pans.
7) Do not place a hot pan on a wet or cold surface. Don't fill a hot pan with cold liquid. My sister-in-law did this numerous times with my Epicurean Essentials stock pot which caused the bottom plates to warp and separate. She has been banned from using my Cuisinart cookware!
8) The assortment of pans included in this set is fantastic and have met all of my cooking needs.
9) The pans develop excellent fond and deglaze nicely.
10) The sauté pans have a good slope to the sides and are conducive to easy cooking. The extra handle on the large sauté pan is very helpful.
11) All of the lids fit perfectly and all handles have remained secure.
12) Although I'm not a professional chef, I feel the weight and construction of these pans are competitive with the MUCH pricier competition.
