Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart CHM-5 Electronic Hand Mixer 5-Speed, WhiteCustomer Review: Excellent hand mixer Summary: 5 Stars
It's been about three months since we bought this item so it's a good sample.
We needed to replace a Kitchenaid hand mixer that we just never liked all that much. (We love our 25 year old Kitchenaid stand mixer.) The mixer never had great power, and what bugged my wife the most was that the switch was in a place where it's always shutting off accidentally. We had that mixer five years, probably, and it always was shutting off on her when she held it the way it worked best. Bad engineering, she hated that mixer.
Still, when the mixer died I almost bought another Kitchenaid, figuring they'd fix any power/performance issues. But when I looked at the product listings -- it's still got the same power switch! So I researched all the rest on Amazon including this Cuisinart one. I actually had to pull a user manual PDF to get a clear look, but the switch is a common old-fashioned slider.
And it's the best mixer my wife has ever had, by far. It's 10x more powerful than the Kitchenaid and the switch is perfect. It's lighter and has a cool retro-jet engine intake thing going. Very classic.
We recommend this mixer to anyone looking for a solid, powerful hand mixer.
