I am rating this 5 star, so far! After reading some of the reviews, however, I'm a little nervous. BUT! Cuisinart has GREAT customer service so even if I have an issue I have no doubt they will make it right.
Aa an avid tea drinker of every type of tea on the market, from delicate Japanese green to heafty Chinese Blacks, I purchased a Utilitea hot water pot. This item has a dial that you turn to go from low temps to boiling. It didn't hold much water, so for larger amounts of tea I had to refill and continue to infuse.
When I came across this model, the Cuisinart CPK-17, I couldn't believe anything like this existed. I didn't hesitate spending the money. And I am not sorry in the least.
There could be no easier way to brew tea! With all the temps and types of teas listed on the buttons, easy to read, it's perfect! No more taking the temp of the water, 'just to make sure' before infusing my teas. I purchase some very exotic and expensive tea, so it's nothing you want to fool with. This unit takes ALL the guesswork out of brewing perfect tea, as far as the water temperature, that is. The rest is practice and knowledge of types of tea, from delicate whites to hardy black.
My girlfriend saw me use this during a dinner at my home one evening and she couldn't wait to purchase her own.
Yep, 5 stars.....my experience so far is excellent!
