Bought this pot for boiling up small amount of pasta. It is perfectly designed for this and this is all I use it for. It's a little on the light side so I can't speak to its heat distribution properties. But as far as weight goes...it weighs enough so that when you pick it up you can tell that it's definitely NOT a piece of junk.
