Customer Review: Awkard design requires food pusher always be engaged

This lovely strong machine is driving me nuts. I kept looking for the off/on switch that would allow me to add stuff while operating the maching. No way...safety first has killed a great product. The only way to use this is with the food pusher all the way in any time you turn it on. I did find that an ice pick will also engage the switch and overide this feature. Perhaps this should be standard with the purchase. Otherwise, it is a lovely tool.

The 14-cup capacity lets you prep complete amounts rather than adding in portions. It includes large and small feed tubes, both flexible. And it comes with a stainless steel chopping blade, medium shredding disc, standard slicing disc, dough blade and a spatula. The 720 watts and two speeds offer the versatility you need for preparing any meal or working any dough, knead up to 3 pounds of dough in less than two minutes! Workbowl is shatterproof, heat and cold resistant. Large enough to knead dough for two good-sized loaves, the processor features an oversized (5-by-3-inch oval) feed tube, which allows slicing and shredding of whole fruits and veggies, as well as a smaller feed tube. The controls are completely intuitive, with "on" and "off/pulse" buttons that can easily be wiped clean. The motor is remarkably quiet--although this is a food processor, so don't expect the sound of butterflies--and powerful enough to manage batches of heavy dough.
The processor includes three stainless-steel discs--one for slicing, one for chopping/mixing, and one for shredding. The work bowl is made of Lexan, known for its durability and resistance to both heat and cold. And the real treat? All pieces but the base can be put in the dishwasher--and the base is easy to sponge clean.
