I have been using this cattle for 7 months now. The handle ALWAYS gets very hot. The whistle is not usable any more.

Cuisinart 2 QT, Everyday Stainless Steel, Teakettle, 18/10 Stainless Steel Construction, Whistle Indicates Boiling Temperature, convienient for multitasking.This teakettle boils water for tea or coffee with panache. Its sleek, simple, contemporary design is enhanced by a polished stainless-steel finish, and its stainless-steel construction never imparts an aftertaste to the water. The kettle holds two quarts and has an easy-to-fill spout with a removable whistle for pouring. Before you boil your first kettle of water, wash it by hand and rinse it well with hot water. (Don't use steel wool, as abrasives will mar the beauty of the finish.) If the exterior becomes cloudy, use a gentle cleanser with a sponge to clean. One caution: the handle and knob on this kettle do heat up as water reaches the boiling point, so be sure to use a potholder to move it off the burner. --Irene Svete
