Most Cuisinart products are grossly overpriced. Their 100.00 coffee brewers are a joke, bar none. I recently purchased this griddler from Amazon. I am 99.44% pleased with it. A grilled steak is superb. It is a bit difficult to clean. I wish it had removeable plates and I wish it had a timer as well as the thermostat. I don't understand why a company can't put the features people want in a product. Would I buy it again -- perhaps overpriced -- but YES. The Griddler cooks like a dream. It's fast!! I've tried hamburgers, chicken, fajitas and they all came out really well. I'm looking foward to trying paninis next. The only problem is cleaning the unit. It takes longer to clean than to cook most items. I have figured out that if you spray water on the plates once it has cooled it cleans much easier but you still have to methodically clean each groove in the grill and then when you clean down the drip trough you have to reclean the grooves. I'm considering changing over to the new George Foreman grill just to be able to remove the plates and put them in the dishwasher.Customer Review: An excellent panini maker and contact grill

It's large enough to handle two large sandwiches or 3-4 boneless chicken breasts. Both sides cook evenly. The floating lid adapts well to different thicknesses. It's easy to clean even though the plates aren't removable. Be sure to let it cool down before moving it. Many outside surfaces get hot
