Customer Review: A few things you may want to know about this fantastic ice cream maker:

I love this machine. It is actually pretty easy to use. I just made the best rocky road I've ever tasted, and it took 18 minutes to churn. :-)
A few things you might want to be aware of before purchasing this product:
1. You have to plan ahead, because liquid and solid ingredients have to be prepared and then refrigerated for at least 2 hours and the freezer bowl has to be refrigerated overnight.
2. If you want to add nuts or fruit to a recipe that doesn't include add-ins, you will probably need to remove some of the ice cream so you have enough space for add-ins. I found this to be the case when I made rocky road. It didn't affect the quality of the ice cream.
3. The ice cream will be soft when it is done churning. You have to put it in the freezer (in a different bowl) to harden.
4. The instructions say the ice cream should not be stored in the freezer bowl.
5. You can't use metal on the inside of the freezer bowl. I use a plastic scraper to transfer the ice cream to a large plastic cottage cheese container (it makes a good seal).
6. The completely frozen freezer bowl can make ice cream once and then it has to be washed, thoroughly dried and put back in the freezer overnight before you can use it again. The instructions stress there should be absolutely no water on the bowl when you refreeze it.
7. You will need a space in the back of your freezer to store the freezer bowl, and it has to be level.
