Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker

Customer Review: Simple!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Simple is how I describe it. No more mess with water, ice, salt, etc. Clean up is a snap; I just scoop/pour ice cream into a storage container and rinse the 3 parts (bucket, paddle, cover). I place the bucket into a plastic grocery bag (two of them for safety), tie, and immediately put back in freezer for the next time. TIP: I use the round plastic lid from the storage container to cover the top of the maker's cover hole. This helps keep the cold air inside. A really great, low-fat, easy recipe: 2 cups buttermilk, 2 cups frozen diced/sliced fruit, 1 cup sugar, & 1 tsp vanilla. Great cheesecake taste! Don't tell them it's buttermilk and they will never guess.

Customer Review: INCREDIBLE ICE CREAM!
Summary: 5 Stars

After researching many ice cream makers and reading many reviews I chose this one. I purchased it Thursday evening and after reading what others had to say, I left the bowl in the freezer until Saturday morning...just to make sure it would be completely frozen. I have a small refridgerator and was happy to discover that the bowl doesn't take up much space at all. I made the custard based vanilla ice cream and all I can say is fantastic!!! 25 minutes and you have a soft serve product...put it in the freezer for a couple of hours to cure and harden to scoop stage. No store bought premium ice cream comes close! This machine is fast, easy and a breeze to clean. I don't find it any more noisy than any other "mixer" type appliance.
Tips I think are essential for success:
Plan ahead.
Make sure the bowl is thoroughly frozen, especially for first time use. After that just leave it in the freezer.
Make sure your liquid base is cooled to at least 40 degrees...this can make the difference between a great end product or just so, so ice cream...use an instant read thermometer.
I recommend this machine without hesitation.

Customer Review: Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker
Summary: 5 Stars

We've only had this product 3 weeks, but love it. You put the freezer bowl into the freezer at least overnight. Remove it and put in the mixing arm and pour your recipe mixture you want to make(this should be chilled in the fridge so your mixture freezes faster) in. Put the freezer bowl in the base, snap on the lid, and turn it on. Check it every 15 minutes or so and you notice the mixture becoming more and more dense until you have what you want. Either remove it and use a wooden spoon to put some in a bowl and immediately satisfy your cool cravings or purchase a stainless steel storage container to empty the contents in to put in the freezer for later. So far it works great and is kind of fun actually. We would buy this product again for sure.

Summary: 5 Stars

We are very happy with this ice cream maker. Just make sure that you keep the tub in the freezer so that it is ready to use at any time. We all really enjoy the ice cream and frozen yogurt that we have made.
