I have been looking for an ice cream maker for a long time. Looked at the less expensive models - but did not like the idea that you had to keep the bowl frozen AND if you wanted to make more than one batch there was no way to do it in the same day. I have used this Cuisinart about 10 times already, makes great ice cream realitively quickly. It is noisy, but you just learn to tune it out, if it really bothers you, you will need to put it in the garage or a room that you can shut the door on.
