Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart Ice-45 Mix-It-In Soft-Serve 1-1/2-Quart Ice-Cream MakerCustomer Review: Sorry product Summary: 1 StarsI purchased the Cuisinart soft-serve ice cream maker for my daughter's birthday. She has other Cuisinart products and HAD thought highly of the manufactor. We followed the instructions, but only received very liquid results. What a disappointment, waste of effort, time and money.
Customer Review: Cuisinart Soft Ice Cream Maker Summary: 4 StarsI've only made vanilla soft ice cream to date, but it works just as advertised. Takes a bit longer than the instructions say, but it's worth the wait. Don't compromise on the ingredients (follow the recipe) and you'll enjoy great ice cream, rich flavor.
My only concern is that you leave a lot of product on the agitator; no real easy way to get that ice cream into a bowl (you'll just have to lick it clean!).
Customer Review: Cuisinart Ice-45 Summary: 5 StarsGreat product!! Our office pitched in for one and it has been a big hit. One tip I have if you purchase is that everyone needs to get their icecream quickly or it will continue to freeze making it difficult to pour out. Then you have use a spoon to get the rest out. But the good thing is we tried making a second batch in the same bowl and it was still cold enough to make more icecream. We have enjoyed!
Customer Review: Pass this one up Summary: 3 StarsI've used the freezer 5 times now and I would not reccommend this product. It takes a longer time than stated to freeze the product. I keep my freezing bowl in a deep freezer all the time so it's very cold. When the product is done, usually 30 minutes or more, it is nothing like a soft serve you'd get from a Dairy Queen. I'll probably give this one away a purchase a good standard freezer.
Customer Review: Fabulous sorbets! Summary: 4 StarsBought this at a kitchen store for a lot more money- should have checked here first! My initial attempt was a lemon-berry sorbet, modifying a recipe I found on the internet. It turned out wonderfully, though it doesn't make much. As recommended, I had my ingredients very cold (used frozen berries in a blender with simple syrup, then strained), and it took about 15 minutes. Getting ready for the chocolate ice cream in the recipe book now. I only gave this 4 stars because the possibilities haven't been fully explored yet!
