I like tea, not coffee. Being a forgetful person, boiling water on the stove has certain hazards (like setting the pot on fire when the water is all boiled away).
I have seen other makes of tea kettles similar to this, but I like the cuisinart brand and this is a darn cute tea kettle.
It's easy to use and you don't have to worry about starting a pot fire on your stove. Plug in the base, add fresh water to the kettle, snap on the lid, put the kettle on the base, and press a big switch on the base. The electric tea kettle shuts off when the water is boiling. How does it know that? I don't know but it keeps the pot from catching fire if I forget about it. What could be easier? In as short as 2-3 minutes you have a kettle full of hot boiled water.
I have noticed that water heated on the stove or in this kettle stays hot longer than water heated in the microwave...perhaps some scientific person could explain why it is so or tell me I am imagining this.
Pour the hot water into a prewarmed ceramic, stoneware, or china tea pot and you have several nice cups of tea. Your pot water will stay hot for an even longer time if you cover the pot with a tea cosy.
My husband also uses this to make individual cups of coffee using a cone filter holder.
I liked the first one I bought SO MUCH, I bought another for my office at work which I keep locked away when not in use in one of my cabinets.
Definitely my favorite tea kettle (and my husband's too).

I have bought this kettle brand new from amazon and after 3 months it stopped working. It was supposed to have a warranty but trying to contact a representative from cuisinart is impossible so I sent them an email. They responded by saying that their is no warranty for my model. The Cuisinart is a great kettle while it works. We have two homes and this kettle at each home. The first gave out after about a year and the second in about two years. We bought this banking on the Cuisinart brand, but we won't buy another Cuisinart product after our experience with this one (or two).
