The face of the thermometer darkened considerably upon first use. The colors are indistinguishable from each other. I can still read the numbers. The thermometer is not very big, and that makes it a little challenging to balance on the shelf. It's very light, and when tapped with the corner of a baking sheet, for example, it tends to drop through the shelf to the bottom of the oven.
I would like to see an alternate way to anchor the thermometer, as I've seen on other models: a hook stamped into the top of the bezel, so the thermometer can hang from the front of a shelf. This is what my old, similar thermometer had. Hanging it from the bottom shelf would be ideal--it would be out of the way but easy to read.
